Getting Reporting Right: Tips for Solving for Gaps in Your Energy and Sustainability Data

Gaps in reported energy and sustainability data are a common challenge.These gaps are the result of leased locations where utility bills are paid indirectly, or can be the result of insufficient or nonexistent data collection systems and processes. Solving for gaps is critical to getting internal and external sustainability reporting right. Such gaps represent a risk to the quality and completeness of an organization’s GHG emission inventory and company investor disclosure (through the Carbon Disclosure Project), and they can also jeopardize the entire decision-making process around an organization’s investments in energy efficiency.

SAN MATEO, Calif., January 10, 2013 – Verdantix, an independent analyst firm, has recognized Hara as an Energy Management Software Specialist in their report: Green Quadrant® Energy Management Software (Global) 2013.

The Green Quadrant® report compares 14 enterprise-class energy management software applications to help corporate buyers save time, reduce cost and mitigate risk in supplier selection. The report also reveals that as corporate energy management and sustainability programs mature, spending on energy management software solutions is projected to increase. The definition of the energy management buyer is expanding as well. As the report states, companies such as Hara understand that the strategic energy management value proposition appeals to CFOs and line-of-business managers as well as facilities and operation managers.

Hara is recognized in the report for providing “a data-centric approach to energy and resource management.” The application is designed to “resolve multiple inefficiencies in the entire energy and resource value chain through data aggregation and analytics.”
